Below you’ll see my archive of images arranged in albums by general subject. All images are copyright by Denny Henke and may not be copied, reproduced, or changed in any way without my permission. Most images are available as fine art display prints or publication use. Comments for several image galleries are enabled and I’d love to hear from you.

Birds

Birds: An always growing collection of bird images including: American Gold Finch, Black-capped Chickadee, Carolina Wren, Downy Woodpecker, Junco, Mourning Dove, Northern Cardinal, Northern Flicker, Pileated Woodpecker, Purple Finch, Red-headed Woodpecker, Red-bellied Woodpecker, Ruby-throated Hummingbird, Tufted Titmouse, White-breasted Nuthatch.

Flowers: Close-up photos of flowers in my garden of native wildflowers. Most of these were chosen for their value as a food source for butterflies, birds, or other forest critters. Species include: Ashy Sunflower, Bleeding Heart, Bloodroot, Blue Lobelia, Blue Sage, Cardinal Flower, Chickory, Columbine, Dutchman’s Breeches, Foxglove Beardtongue, Jacob’s Ladder, New England Aster, Oaxalis, Orange Coneflower, Purple Coneflower, Rudbeckia hirta, Rue Anemone, Showy Evening Primrose, Spiderwort, Spring Beauty, Tickseed Sunflower, Wild Bergamont, Wild Rose, Wood Poppy

Amphibians and Reptiles: Toads, frogs, turtles, snakes and more. I think frogs may be my favorite critter of all time. Included here are the following species: American Toad, Blanchard’s Cricket Frog, Box Turtle, Garter Snake, Gray Tree Frog, Green Frog, Northern Spring Peeper, Southern Leoaprd Frog

Mammals: Cottontail Rabbit, Chipmunk, Gray Squirrel, White Tail Deer

Insects: Small and colorful, insects play a vital role in our ecosystems. They’re also beautiful! My gallery of insect images is always growing and now includes the following species: Candy-striped leafhopper, Dragonflies, Damselflies, Eastern Tiger Swallowtail Butterfly, Giant Swallowtail Butterfly, Gray Hairstreak Butterfly, Harris’ Checkerspot Butterfly, Japanese Beetles, Katydid (adult and nymph), Milkweed Bug, Monarch Butterfly, Monarch Caterpillar, Red-spotted Purple Butterfly, Saddleback Caterpillar, Sharpshooter Leafhopper, Spicebush Swallowtail.
